How Phoenician Are You? How Many Of These Did You Know About Phoenix?

by Brian Eastwood

Thinking about a move to Phoenix? Those of us who already live and/or work there can tell you all about the sunny disposition that is required to be a Phoenician. Phoenix is a great place for small and large businesses alike, and it is also a gorgeous city in which you and your family can grow and thrive.

So, what do you need to know about Phoenix? Let’s go over what makes this city so special and why I want to help you find the right home here.

Phoenicians Frequent 200 Golf Courses

Take a drive between Phoenix and Scottsdale and you will notice a ton of golf courses. In fact, there are just about 200 golf courses scattered throughout the city!

There is a golf course fit for every price point, and the championship courses at Troon North are some of the most beloved. Challenge yourself with a full 18-hole course or take the kids out for a round of mini golf – it’s all about having fun while perfecting your swing.

Phoenix Has One of the Best Water Parks in Arizona

Six Flags Hurricane Harbor Phoenix is one of the best water parks in Arizona. Formerly known as Wet ‘n Wild, Six Flags bought this park and has made it even more fun. There are over 30 exciting water rides to try, and it is fun for the entire family.

This water park hosts the world’s very first Maximum Velocity – Dueling H2O Coasters. The prices are quite reasonable, and Phoenicians like to get summer passes so they can go multiple times every season.

You Can Eat Fried Rattlesnake at Rustler’s Rooste

If you haven’t tried fried rattlesnake and are feeling adventurous, stop by Rustler’s Rooste. Enjoy a gool ol’-fashioned Wild West dining experience in the saloon. Of course, there are some great beef-based dishes to enjoy, but the fried rattlesnake is something of a local legend! You might want to chase it down with a bottled or draught beer though.

Phoenix’s Vegetation is Incredibly Diverse

When you think of Phoenix, you might envision a lot of desert sand. And we do have some of that. But Arizona is also known for having a diverse plant life. Wild flowering plants (such as the California poppy and Purple Mat), eight species of cacti, and massive Ironwood trees all grow here. Planting a garden? You can successfully grow one here and pack it with beautiful perennials and cacti, just to name a few things. In total, you will find about 4,000 species of flora in Arizona, which is bigger than almost any other area in the United States.

Get Your Geek On at Arizona Science Center

Did you know that Phoenicians really love science? Well, we do. We love it so much that our city is host to the massive Arizona Science Center!

Come to the heart of downtown Phoenix and you will find the Arizona Science Center nestled perfectly into the Heritage and Science Park. There are over 350 hands-on permanent exhibits as well as numerous visiting exhibits and events that happen throughout the year. The website also has a ton of helpful learning resources for parents to use with their children. The Dorrance Planetarium puts on laser shows set to popular music, and the Irene P. Flinn Theater shows all kinds of cool nature and space documentaries.

Become a fun-loving Phoenician
